"When I am an old woman... I shall wear purple With a red hat which doesn't go, and doesn't suit me... But maybe I ought to practice a little now?..." -Jenny Joseph

The Bouquet

We were chartered on April 1, 2002 (April Fool's Day, appropriately so) and we held our first tea on April 16. Not having had time to shop for hats as yet, our founders made red tennis visors for all, to remind us that we first became friends on the tennis courts. In the front row our Queen-Mum holds her scepter, the Sergeant-in-gloves holds her lace gloves and the Vice-Mum (in charge of vice) holds her red lace panties. You can tell that the rest of the ladies are ready for whatever "vice" we can dream up. Now we will meet the first Monday of each month for luncheon, wearing our "full regalia" (purple with red hats ,or lavender with pink hats in the case of the ladies-in-waiting who are "almost" 50) and try a few other adventures as the mood strikes us.
